Growth of the port sector in Georgia

Georgia is strengthening its position as a strategic maritime and transit hub connecting Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Its ports and terminals play an increasingly important role in regional trade, logistics, and energy flows.

 

Key Maritime Assets

  • - Poti Sea Port – Georgia's main commercial port and container hub, serving the East–West trade corridor.
  • - Batumi Sea Port – A major Black Sea port handling oil and liquid bulk cargo while expanding its range of operations.
  • - Kulevi Oil Terminal – Operated by SOCAR, the terminal is a key export point for petroleum products with strong rail-to-port connectivity.
  • - Supsa Oil Terminal – A strategic crude oil export route linking Azerbaijan to global markets through pipeline infrastructure.
  • - Anaklia Deep Sea Port (planned) – Expected to significantly enhance Georgia's maritime capacity and strengthen the Middle Corridor, with Phase 1 planned for 2029.

From April 26 to 30, 2026, Experto Consulting had the privilege of co-organizing a business and exploratory mission to Uzbekistan on behalf of Cosmetic Valley, bringing together a dynamic delegation of French cosmetics companies.

 

This mission reflects a shared ambition to explore Uzbekistan as one of Central Asia’s fastest-growing and most promising markets for the cosmetics and beauty industry. With a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, increasing consumer demand, and strong governmental support for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors, Uzbekistan offers tangible opportunities for innovation, investment, and long-term partnerships.

 

Experto Consulting, in collaboration with its trusted partners - Caisse d’Epargne and the Tashkent Pharma Park Cluster - designed a comprehensive program to equip participating companies with the insights, connections, and tools needed to navigate this emerging ecosystem.

 

The delegation’s journey across Tashkent and Samarkand combined strategic briefings with hands-on field experience, enabling participants to engage in B2B meetings, identifying concrete business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and understanding market trends and consumer expectations.
